If you don't know who Tim Kennedy is, he is a contender for the Strikeforce MMA middleweight championship and in his spare time is a US Army Green Beret. Notice how I said is a Green Beret: the guy is a pro MMA fighter and is still in the Army. Unreal.
Anyway, I had this video shared with me a while ago and it is truly inspirational. And also pay attention to how this dude trains, he has a motor like I've never seen. Enjoy!
Dude, No doubt Tim Kennedy is an Animal.
ReplyDeleteHis story really did touch me.
On a side note, unfortunately - I have to add for opinion sake. Is it just me or does he seem rather obsessed with strength training?
Most pro fighters and JJ athletes make this mistake and it's unfortunate.
Great video post, touched me.. Truly amazing person
In all honesty, if his videos are to be taken at face value, the guy has plenty of space in his regimen for all of his training, from BJJ to muay thai to general conditioning. While I agree generally that technique can, and often does, overtake more able men, it certainly doesn't hurt to be world class physically and have the technique to back it up. It may be a folly for some of lesser means to overly concentrate on fitness over technique, but in this case I believe he is covering both ends well as neither is interfering with the other. Quite the opposite, actually, because for him it is synergistic, almost like the source of his confidence comes from his serious physical prep. This conjecture bears out when you consider he is in title contention and thought one of the top up and coming middleweight fighters around.
